What Is Biometric Access Control and How Does It Work?
What is Biometrics?
Biometrics use physiological and behavioural characteristics to identify people, this can include the face, fingerprints, handwriting, retinal, veins and voice, amongst others. Biometric templates cannot be stolen or reverse-engineered to gain unlawful entrance to a building.
Biometric access control means that a person’s identity can only be fully confirmed by his or her unique characteristics. And is therefore a much more effective security solution that cannot be compromised by for example the loss of a key card or a forgotten password.
Access control is simplified and positive Identification is ensured with biometrics.
