SABC Henley Building
MULTI-NET SYSTEMS is currently busy throughout the SABC Henley Building installing FM200 gas suppression systems which amounts to over 28 tons of FM200 agent, complimented by Aspiration Smoke Detection technology as an early-warning fire detection platform with a total combined estimated aspiration tube length of over 11 km.
In conjunction with this we have a PA and Evacuation system reaching into all the areas where the suppression and fire detection systems are installed. The project duration is estimated on 24 months.
Johannesburg Centre of Excellence Library
In 2013 the first phase of upgrade and refurbishment of this heritage building was awarded to MULTI-NET SYSTEMS by the Johannesburg Development Agency.
It consisted of the repair of the existing smoke detection system, installation of HSSD units, installation of closed control A/C units and the upgrade of the western and eastern plant rooms.
MULTI-NET SYSTEMS was recently awarded the second phase of upgrade and refurbishment which consists of the installation and maintenance of the fire gas suppression system, general electrical work, staff and passenger lifts, escalators and general building work.
BMW Rosslyn Plant
The BMW fire protection project completed in the Rosslyn Paint shop plant was a specialized fast acting Flame detection system installed into a pristine laboratory environment and protects everything from the spray booths themselves to the robots working inside them.
The system is interlinked with two suppression systems namely a deluge water suppression system and a CO2 inert gas protection system and it is also closely integrated with over a hundred BMS emergency safety override protocols.
The system has a three dimensional graphical management system to provide operators with easy and fast response to any alarms that occur to pinpoint the exact location of the alarm within the almost 100m long building.
Due to BMW’s stringent production targets most of the work happened over weekends over a period of four months but even so the project was completed successfully and within the allocated time frame.
Peter Mokaba Stadium
MULTI-NET SYSTEMS installed an addressable Aritech fire detection system and an Aiphone fire phone system to link all lifts to the Fire brigade station. The system is fully linked to the Fire brigade, Public Address, Lifts, Roller shutter doors, Pressurisation fans, Security gates and GS-Win user interface.
We also protected Vodacom’s Network room with 200 Bar Ansul Inergen gas cylinders and installed High Sensitivity Smoke Detection Vesdas in this area for early warning.
MULTI-NET SYSTEMS was awarded the contract for the upgrading and installation of new services for the Sita Building in Centurion. The scope of work consisted of the decommissioning and removal of existing chiller units, the installation of new
Clivet chiller units and the associated accessories which included freezing the existing chiller pipes with liquid nitrogen. We also supplied and installed a new DB with pumps .
Kusile Power Station
MULTI-NET SYSTEMS has been awarded the Fire Detection,
Public Address/Evacuation, Gas Protection
and Sprinkler installation on the Kusile project in Mpumalanga. Our installation teams have started with the installation and the expected completion is in the region of 2016.
The project consists of 80 buildings and due to its complexity it is a good challenge that we are very excited about. The Fire Detection and Public Address system is Honeywell and the Gas protection is 200 Bar Inergen Ansul.
